At first, she studied to be an actress, and then she obtained her Master’s degree in dramatic art with a specialisation in voice and speech techniques at l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). She supplemented those studies by various training courses with the CERA (Centre d'étude et de recherche en auto-éducation corporelle), at the Centre de pédagogie de l’écoute (in osteophonie).
She also followed several training courses in cinema: in particular, with Maka Koto, actor and producer; with Murielle Laferrière, casting director. In theatre, she studied with Eugenio Barba de l’Odin Teatret of Denmark; with Téo Spichalski of Prospero Theatre. In dance, she trained with Delphine Pan-Déoué of the African dance school; with Komang Swijali, teacher of Balinese dance; with the troop Semara Ratih in Bali; with Kazuo Ohno in butô in Japan.
For the last 10 years, Graziella Mossa has been a theatre professor. She teached in Communication studies at l’Université de Montréal, in theatre at College Lionel-Groulx and at the Theatre Department of l’UQAM. She also gave theatre workshops everywhere in the province of Quebec for people in the art field and in public relations. Since then, she also acts as coach for actors (professional and amateurs), lecturers, politicians, as well as children and teenagers having learning disabilities. In 2004, she received recognition by the Communication and Culture Ministry and also by the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal for her theatre teaching.
Improvisation
Graziella was involved at the very beginning of the project and contributed to the play acting research with a first group, before working with the final distribution. Graziella gave us a brilliant performance and showed us a very broad range of emotions, since her character crosses extreme situations. She was in unity with her peers and one could appreciate the collusion and intimacy she was able to create with each one of them.
